One hour lesson comprehensively covering all the considerations a couple or single person needs to make before deciding to have a child. This lesson is UK focused and students will investigate the childcare cost and environmental issues, as well as practical and emotional considerations. They will also focus on the positive aspects too, of love, affection, companionship and purpose.
This has been created to best suit KS4 but could easily be used with KS3 and is entirely editable. It covers the DfE and PSHE Association guidance for 2020-23 and will last you one hour.

This fully-resourced, hour long PSHE lesson is all about eating a healthy, nutritious diet and living a healthy lifestyle. It is best suited to upper KS2 (Year 6) but could be used with younger or older year groups including lower KS3. Drugs, festivals, clubbing and parties - an hour long, fully-resourced, detailed and differentiated PSHE lesson, created specifically for the new PSHE + RSE 2020-22 guidelines. The lesson covers the extra vigilance students need to take when attending their first festivals, parties and starting to go clubbing. It explains the dangers and risks associated with drug culture, from personal safety and health risks to sexual ones. It also have a focus on the nitrous oxide craze (laughing gas / nos), harm reduction and where students can go for further help.

Primary PSHE Gender stereotypes KS2 PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the resource is suitable for use across KS2. In this lesson, the students will explore gender stereotypes and the negative impact that they can have on a person’s career. We will look at some examples of positive and negative stereotypes and discuss how these ideas can lead to people being treated unfairly. We will look at the experiences of women in STEM, with a particular focus on the mistreatment of female scientists throughout history. We will then discuss different ways that we can challenge gender stereotypes and ways that we can celebrate the achievements of women. The lesson includes an information sheet, a card sort/discussion task, a video clip activity, a poster task, and a debate plenary.

Fire Safety PSHE Lesson. A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the contents of the resource are suitable for students across KS2.
In this lesson, the students will learn about fire safety and the different ways that we can protect ourselves. We will discuss fire safety rules such as stop, drop, and roll, what to do in an emergency, as well as the reasons why fires begin in the first place. The students will identify hazards around the home, and use their knowledge to create a home fire safety plan.

New 2024 PSHE lesson all about ableism as well as visible and invisible disabilities and how people can be treated differently in work, school and public environments - sometimes breaking the Equality Act 2010.
Students will examine exactly what we mean by ableism, by exploring examples and case studies, with a focus on prejudice and discrimination. They will also establish the difference between purposeful ableism (e.g to save money in a workplace) and ableism from naivety. For the Gatsby Benchmark Careers Guidelines. 1-2 hour fully resourced careers lesson. Firstly, students will investigate what problem solving skills are, and try to solve a series of problems. They will then take stock of the skills they already have by examining the ways they have solved problems through their time at school and how these could be useful to a future potential employer if framed in an appropriate context.

Careers and skills KS2 PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the resource is suitable for use across KS2. In this lesson, the students will explore the different types of skills that employers look for when hiring people. We will look at hard skills and soft skills, and discuss the reasons why communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership are sought after attributes in the workplace. A new lesson all about compulsive, fixed and unwanted behaviours, which is a new topic set under the new draft statutory guidelines for PSHE 2024. In this lesson students will explore what we mean by compulsive behaviours, the difference between a habit and a compulsion, what we mean by OCD and Impulse Control Disorders, how these can’t be diagnosed over TikTok and where to go for medical help and advice. They will also investigate how to recognise the symptoms of various compulsive disorders, how some compulsions can even lead to criminal behaviour (as stipulated by the guidance) and much more. Best suited to KS4.

The lesson introduces students to the health risks of obesity and also the positives of body positivity, before focusing on the debate surrounding the plus-size model Tess Holliday’s appearance on the front cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine. Students create extended responses to Piers Morgan’s negative tweeting about plus-size models as a literacy focus task.

A digital resilience PSHE lesson which examines what happens when we take social media too seriously and build our lives around what we hear online. The lesson encourages critical thinking and speaking to trusted offline adults before taking advice from Tiktok or any other social media site. Students will investigate whether ‘trigger warnings’ are always helpful or whether sometimes we need to build emotional resilience. The lesson also examines trauma, and how to recognise whether we really are suffering from trauma, or whether we are experiencing normal (albeit stressful) teenage life.
This is all new content (2023) and all editable. The lesson will last you an hour and is aimed at KS4 but could be used with KS3.
Activities are scaffolded, there is a detailed and colourful PowerPoint, clip tasks with questions and answers, information pack, worksheets, literacy tasks, creative tasks, signposting to further help agencies and charities, clear outcomes and also partnered activities. Includes optional assessment sheet, lesson plan and written scheme of work that the lesson is taken from.
It is fully editable, engaging and very easy to follow.

**Teacher note: Following the recent announcement regarding a ban on the teaching of gender identity, we have temporarily removed this lesson from our scheme of work with a view to updating it, or replacing it once the new RSE guidance has been finalised. The new guidance is expected to go through a 12 week consulation period, following which a final version of the guidance is expected to be released. To ensure full compliance, any changes to this lesson will take place after the new guidance has been finalised. **
This two-hour PSHE lesson is fully equipped with resources to introduce Key Stage 2 and lower Key Stage 3 students to the concept of gender identity and its distinction from biological sex. Through engaging activities, pupils will explore the LGBTQ+ community, delve into the meaning of gender identity, and discern the variance between gender and biological sex. Additionally, the lesson will address protected characteristics and how the law safeguards both gender transition and gender critical beliefs, emphasising the importance of navigating this topic with sensitivity and respect. Developed in accordance with the latest 2020 guidelines from the Department for Education (DfE) and the PSHE Association.
Teacher note - we are awaiting the outcome of the RSE Review. In the event that gender identity is removed from the primary curriculum, this lesson will be updated accordingly, or replaced with a suitable alternative. It is our expectation that this resource will still be suitable in secondary settings.
